About Marta
Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, Marta always felt like a child with vivid imagination and a natural curiosity towards questioning the world.
As an only child, she built a world of her own, one filled with books, drawings and the occasional imaginary friend.
Frequent travels with her parents expanded her sense of the world and gave her a taste for adventure — a feeling she still carries into the way she approaches life.
Communication and words have always been her thing. Many years later she studied Media Studies with a focus on Journalism and got her first job right after college, writing for an airline magazine.
A year later, a small but proud digital agency reached out and that’s where her copywriting and social media skills started to take shape.
Over the next four years, Marta worked with clients in the airline industry, beauty and health, and energy sectors.
Her roles covered everything from social media strategy and management to digital copywriting, long-form content, email marketing, CRM, and complex database management.
After 4 years, she quit her job and tried freelancing for a year.
Heart and soul weren’t fully in it (after all, it was the start of questioning her place in the traditional workforce) so after that time, she went back to the agency that first received her so well.
Maybe not the best year of her life, but a meaningful one: it stretched her; professionally and personally.
During the first freelancing period, Marta worked as an UX writer for an insurance company’s new travel app and managed social media accounts for Portuguese companies (from consumer goods to beauty appliances).
After going back to the corporate world, a new chapter under a bigger umbrella began. In those years, roles evolved, projects grew larger, and she took on more responsibility — contributing to digital strategy and consulting, leading small teams across social media, email marketing, and CRM.
More corporate clients joined the curriculum: banking, telecom, energy, healthcare.
She was never a fan of big, solid, old structures…
But there she was. Again. There were lessons to be learned.
True. Plenty of lessons learned.
She had to be there to know exactly why she didn’t want it no longer.
𖦹 She now understands that she prefers places, projects and organisations where she can speak openly.
𖦹 Organisations where less conventional (or convenient) opinions are not hard pills to swallow.
𖦹 Groups or individuals that are open to hear, adapt, evolve.
𖦹 Playgrounds and experiences that can be expansive, honest and true collaborations.
On the meantime, she kept writing on small platforms and started a newsletter where she shared her thoughts, book & film reviews and insights on magic, philosophy and art.
After one very medicinal and eye opening experience, she decided to quit her job in 2022.
A few months later, there was the idea that originated follow the frequencies first official apparition.
The herbal blends were an incredible playground that helped her understand more about:
༄ How to create and keep an online business
༄ How to promote that business with marketing and content
༄ How to create a website and develop a brand (from scratch)
༄ How to develop some very particular and creative/lazy design skills,
༄ How to manage relationships with customers, service providers and business partners,
and much more. It was a one-girl show after all.
June 2024
Marta decided to let go of the herbal dream.
Even if that particular business didn’t survive…
the wisdom of plants, the learned lessons and the seeds for other businesses are still very much alive.
The EP of frequencies Hertz from the Heart is also a product of the herbal blends experiment — an EP of 5 songs with a different frequency, each tuned to a different frequency inspired by the blends.
It keeps alive the memories of the herbal blends. Also allows other people to experience the frequencies and use them on their daily lives.
After the blends, other opportunities expanded and other collaborations with digital agencies and brands:
𖦹 Digital marketing consultancy for a travel and business store, a hotel in Lisbon and a premium fitness center;
𖦹 Copywriting and long form creation,
𖦹 Creative strategy and copy for campaigns.
She keeps sharpening her craft, diving deeper into custom digital strategy, brand consulting, and UX writing.
She is not very good at documenting her work. There are probably things forgotten. But one of her recent campaigns for a telecommunications brand just aired on Portuguese TV.
→ Luckily there is LinkedIn.
Recently, as follow the frequencies started to develop a new path, Marta decided to do the same and adapt to this new version of life — trying new areas like artistic guidance, creative direction, concerts production and logistics.
She was behind the creative direction of Portuguese artist Sandrino’s videos for the EP “Ser”, helping shape, produce, and expand the artist’s vision.
In early 2026, she joined that same artist at the Festival da Canção final with the song “Disposto a Tudo”, co-written and created with Francesco. She helped with the logistics, production, styling and all the necessary behind-the-scenes work.
One of the videos “Tá em Aberto” ended up on MTV, which was a major win for 13 year old Marta.
She keeps writing but taste and topics have evolved.
These days, Marta occasionally writes on Substack and will keep this blog running. Topics may vary between her own world vision & experiences, world-alt history, philosophy, religion and theology, book reviews, the occult and the mysteries of being alive on this earth.
She’s open to projects and collaborations, and continues working behind the scenes at follow the frequencies.
